We use ManageEngine OpManager to monitor nearly every device in our environment, including wireless access points, network switches, virtual servers, physical servers, Linux servers, windows servers, and everything in between. Across these devices, we monitor many things. We like having the ability to monitor CPU usage, RAM usage, storage across multiple drives, storage in specific directories, ping, windows services, and uptime. Some business problems the product addresses are device availability and storage alerts. It's crucial we know as soon as possible when a device is down and ManageEngine OpManager's custom alerting and notification system is great for letting the correct people know a problem exists within minutes of it happening. As for storage, ManageEngine OpManager allows us to configure alerts in a very precise way so that we know when things are starting to fill up and when things need more urgent attention.
  • Alerting/Notifying
  • Customization of Alerts
  • Clean UI
  • Threshold inactivity disabling monitors with no notification
  • The search bar sometimes breaks and doesn't show results properly
  • I'd like notifications when new builds are released
I think ManageEngine OpManager is perfect for any environment under 500 devices where you need to monitor many specific details on different types of devices. It's great for setting up notifications to notify the correct people so not everyone gets alerted. Its customization is great for tuning out noisy alerts as well.

My organization uses ManageEngine OpManager for various purposes, especially for monitoring our infrastructure services' crucial server and network nodes. The business problem that ManageEngine OpManager addresses is proactive monitoring of network infrastructure and its alerts. The history part of the monitor is so good, that it helps us to identify the issue's history. ManageEngine OpManager helps us proactively monitor our infrastructure, resource usage, and utilization. Our server is on AWS and with the help of ManageEngine OpManager, we can save costs by scaling down the size based on the overall resource utilization.
  • Proactive monitoring
  • Alerts notification
  • Resource utilization
  • Cost saving
  • Customization of services
  • Kerberos is not supported
ManageEngine OpManager is well-suited in scenarios where the infrastructure is vast and critical and you cannot log in to each server to check its memory and CPU utilization. ManageEngine OpManager does the work for you at the periodic times that you have chosen.

  • Monitoring of critical business applications like a SMTP mail server, XAMPP web servers, MSSQL databases,
  • Real-time alerts for issues like outages, slowdowns based on the threshold value
  • It's also helping us to do the capacity planning for future growth.
  • Reporting options can still to be improved. i felt limited reporting customization.
  • 1st time installation is bit complicated
  • Remote office system monitoring is requiring opening firewall port and sometimes it says all the servers are down when the connectivity to the report network is goes offline.
Business of all size who wants to monitor their critical resources which includes Wifi Routers, servers and even printers. this tool is best for monitor and alert the systems engineer on real time. cost effective solution and supports on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployments. Easily scale with seamlessly to accommodate growing IT needs without significant performance impact.

We use ManageEngine OpManager to monitor all of our VMs, switches, and access points. It helps us by notifying us if a particular VM has gone down in real-time or if it just needs some maintenance. It also warns if the memory of a particular VM is starting to get low, so it in a way helps to prevent serious downtime and avoids disruption in the business.

It allows the easy creation of custom dashboards. It is the best choice to manage infrastructure within different LANs. It helps to create a region-wise bandwidth report monthly. OpManager monitors network devices including firewalls, wireless LAN controllers, switches, and everything connected to the network and has an IP address. In case of an error, you can drill down to the main reason and eliminate it efficiently.

Using it for network devices monitoring for some of our customers. It got multiple deployment Options like Probe-based and Central Management. Thou OpManager is for network monitoring however it also covers OS monitoring and some of the MS Infra Apps like AD, exchange, etc...
  • Wide coverage of network Devices monitoring.
  • NetFlow Analyzer for bandwidth and network traffic is one of the best in market.
  • Out of the box Support for AD, SQL and MS Exchange.
  • SaaS offering would be a good option
  • It integrate well with AppManager, bring the AI/ML and it will make as observability platform
It's a good tool for the customer who is specifically looking for an On-prem solution for network device monitoring and also covers OS and MS infra apps without busing additional modules like AppManager. It doesn’t fit the customer who is looking for cloud-based solution for monitoring.

ManageEngine OpManager is used to monitor critical servers and the services they run. We have it trigger notifications, both email, and SMS, to various members in the IT department in order to get ahead of any potential downtime that the supported users may have.
  • Monitor servers that go down.
  • Monitor critical services.
  • Email and SMS notifications.
  • User interface takes some time to get used to.
  • Setting up the login credential for various devices.
  • Removing known unused devices.
Since we mainly use OpManager as a server notification application, I can only recommend it for that feature. It does this very well. It does appear to get confused in the rare instances the internal IPs are changed or the server's name is changed, which seems to require a refresh in the notification section of the application.

  • Agentless monitoring
  • Custom monitoring and scripting
  • Application and service specific monitoring
  • More customization of reports
It does what it says: monitors your infrastructure with no fuss and is easily deployable and easy to understand and configure

I use ManageEngine OpManager to give me a top-down view of traffic usage throughout my organization and by location. The centralized console and being able to track the source and destination of traffic is indispensable.
  • Central Console for top-down view.
  • Custom alerts to alert me of high-traffic usage.
  • Custom reports for management.
  • The interface can be complicated for novice users.
  • Updates are continually released, lots of downtime to upgrade.
  • Occasionally product MIBs are not available.
If you find that instant alerts, bandwidth usage per port and connections, custom reports and central console monitoring are of use then this is the product you need for network monitoring. OpManager is a tool that gives you great monitoring and is simple to setup, gives you great options for workflow or custom monitors.
